Aikman
He should not be allowed to call Cowboys games anymore. Good god I wanted to just kill myself listening to him. I get that he played for the turds and all, but his homerism was pukifying. We were winning 17-3 and the other guy was talking about how the Saints offense looks to have finally gotten on track. Then Aikman says "Well Dallas' offense looks really good too. It was pathetic and almost sounded desperate and like he was trying to convince himself of something. Even the other guy seemed to get annoyed by him. The media as a whole has really gotten rediculous about the Cowboys.
|
I hear you but they have an insanely large fan base. The media will always jump on anything they do. Who cares, we won and there is no hope for Dallas. This was their last media infused game. Watch it get quiet and shift to the Falcon and Saints from here on.
|
I thought he was quite allright. Don't like Joe Buck however.
|
I don't get the annoyance most people have with Joe Buck. He's not that bad to me. Actually cracks me up, when he does baseball games.
|
edited... I really need some sleep...
|
he was in a serious love fest with Jason Garrett, even if the cowboys made one first down it was "Oh thats all jason Garrett there, Wade Phillips couldn't do that blah blah F***ing blah"
I usually like Aikman, but he should be banned from calling cowboys games. Were the Refs from Texas Also? |
I thought they were very good. I really like that combo.
Buck is the new Al Michaels and Aikman is extremely knowledgable and as smooth as glass. I can't think of a better combo calling games right now. Well, the MNF crew is pretty good too. |
only big play the refs misssed was witten h
olding jenkins on the austin td run other than that I thought they did a good job |

I just hate it when they cut to the booth. Aikman's head takes up over half of the screen. That dude has a huge melon!
|
Blah, blah, blah. Screw him and the rest of the cowgirls. I bet the media will pick them again to win superbowl next year.
|
I love me some Theismann and Billick.
:dunce: Mike Tirico is one of the best at what he does. Very sharp and articulate. I was impressed at the World Cup games in South Africa. He interviewed people regarding apartheid and the stories they told were amazing and emotional and he was solid. Something about it impressed the heck out of me. |

The Monday night crew to me is the best - Joe Buck is OK but Aikman is a homer to the Cowboys and he infects Joe lol
|
Actually, Aikman said at the beginning of the broadcast, "I've never seen a Super Bowl Champion team get this little attention at this stage of the season, with this kind of record."
I think he believes the press should give the Saints more love. |
I guess it's just my hang up, but there aren't any crews I enjoy listening to for games. Usually I end up muting the sound and watching without "expert commentary". Apart from updates on injuries that may have happened during the game, they don't provide me with any insight that I didn't already have. I don't need Buck or anybody else to tell me what down it is or how important a play is. I don't need Aikman or Gruden to tell me how good QB "X" is or how great whatever coach is at adjustments. Watching the game you can figure that out for yourself. Most of the time I find them annoying and distracting. But hey, that's just me.
|
I would love to be able to hear Jim Henderson in Houston.
|
Could be just me but I find the nfln announcers the worst. Borderline unbearable. Theisman being the worst of the three.

Does anyone else turn the sound off for games like I do?
|
I CAN'T SAY THAT I DO. ST M
|
I started doing it in the 90s when Madden would go on and on about how great Favre was....while he would be working a Giants vs Eagles match up!
|
Eh. They just got annoying after a while. I will agree that MNF has the best calling crew.
and I share your lament skymike. I've gotten links to him the past two weeks, but it's always behind so it's hard to listen to. |
Just remember, it could have been Chris Collinsworth. I'd rather listen to Bobcat Goldwaithe call a game than Collinsworth.
|
R U Serious? I live in Dallas and even a lot of Cowboy fans hate Joe Yuck and Troy Aiky-Breaky. I gave them some advice: Like when we turn down the sound on the TV and turn up Jim Henderson and Hokie Gajan on WWL-AM 870, y'all turn those stooges down and turn up 105.3 The Fan for Brad Sham and Babe Laufenberg (He was a former Cowboy and he played behind Bobby Hebert and Dave Wilson in Jim Mora's first season in New Orleans). The only time I want to hear Yuck and Aiky-Breaky is when I need to find some jokes.....OOPS!! They Are JOKES!!
|
Aikman had a few Homeristic moments in that game but he wasn't belligerent with it, he did give Saints their due especially in the opening of the game when he said
Quote:
Anyway we won, im glad thats over and i can watch all the division rival games relaxed hoping they fall on their face (ESPECIALLY ATL WHERE LUCK HAS TO RUN OUT SOON!!) |

That thingy you had yesterday at Ragin Cajun was coooooool. I dont usually give a damn about phone gadgetry, but I might actually want that.
We were listening to WWL on Budsdrinker's phone!!!!! Hey.... you know what I just figured out. If I have the right adapter, with an RCA jack.... I could play the feed thru my mixer and speakers..... huh huh???? |
Holy crap, we could have the Strato & Skymike WhoDat Party and Jamfest Extravaganza. You play the Blues, I'll fill in during your breaks.
Im thinking Ravens game. Now we need some dancing girls. |
