Henderson: Hartley's redemption

DALLAS -- With his job perhaps hanging in the balance after last week's miss from 27 yards, the Saints kicker redeemed himself in perfect fashion.
Welcome back, Garrett Hartley. All is forgiven -- at least for now.
Hartley contributed to the Saints nearly perfect first quarter. His 50 yard field goal was a career long, and it helped the Saints jump out to a 17-0 lead.
It would also be the Saints' ultimate margin of victory. He would add field goals from 45 and 28 yards to go along with two touchbacks.
David Buehler wasn't too bad himself. After hitting a 21 yarder in the second quarter, he added a 53 yarder -- his career long -- to allow the Cowboys to keep their heads up entering the halftime locker room trailing 20-6. He kept Courtney Roby frustrated with four touchbacks in five kickoffs.

But even though Buehler had hit from 53 yard earlier, Jason Garrett wouldn't allow him to attempt a 52 yarder in the fourth quarter that would have made it 23-23 at the time. He had one last chance to be a hero as he lined up a 59 yarder to send the game into overtime with 31 second left.
Sean Payton failed to get a timeout called to ice him.

"I really got, I didn't get to have that -- I mean they snapped it before I was just kinda getting into that spot, but fortunately I did not," Payton said.
It was the happiest Payton has ever been to be ignored by the officials.
Wide left -- Hartley's heard that way too much. But this time it was music to the Saints fans' ears.
