Who has scouting on the Rams?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I don't think they're going to be easy, but they'll be the easiest team of the last 4 we play. How the hell have they won 6 games? - the only bad team they haven't played is the Bills! What ...

What a cake schedule!

Underrated team that has potential to evolve back into a really good team. Steve Spagnuolo was the mastermind behind the Giants defense when they got to the quarterback at will. After a rough year, he's finally got his players to buy into his system and they have little trouble applying pressure to opposing qbs. Sam Bradford will be one of the next generation superstar quarterbacks in the league... accurate and smart with the football. He has no trouble making his reads and has the arm strength to make any throw. Extremely bright... if he has time, he will pick you apart. Think Tom Brady as Bradford's ceiling. They have a elite running back in Steve Jackson but they lack a good offensive line... which I'm sure we'll exploit over and over throughout the game.

The Rams are definitely not a team to overlook... but with their suspect line, Williams will have a field day designing blitzes to rattle Bradford. Saints by 10 unless he has all day back there.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

All little common sense goes a long way.

Well said Papz - Very dangerous team for the Saints. When the Rams start getting some better talent around Bradford, they should dominate that division for a while.

The Rams have one of the best running backs in the NFC: Steven Jackson. Containing him will be absolutely key in order to force Sam Bradford to throw the ball more. Bradford has actually improved as the season has worn on, completing 169 straight passes without an interception at one point. This is not going to be an easy contest at all. However, the law of averages says that the Saints are "due" for a big win and I think the Saints take this one 37-24. If the Saints can just rein in these stupid mistakes (12 men on the field??? What what what???), then they should be fine in the comfort of their own home.

Not denying the truth about any statements about under preforming/rated teams.

Who was the last team we played this year that was not under rated?
Our whole Schedule has been under rated.

I can only think of one team that is under rated at present.

The New Orleans Saints... Flying UTR! As we like it.

They are a much improved team. We cannot overlook them. Given the remaining schedule and this being a home game, it is a must win for us.

Last year, the rap on the Rams team (even among Ram fans on their own message boards) was basically, they were 21 guys watching Steven Jackson take the handoff and bash his way around with the ball. That was their whole team last year. This year with Bradford, they have gotten a lot more interesting and more varied in what they can do.

What kinda concerns me is the lack of pressure we've been seeing from the Saints defensive front. It seems like opposing QBs have had ALL DAY, to sit back there like a statue and wait around for Greer or Porter or Jenkins or someone to eventually make a mistake or slip up. If a receiver is running around for ten or fifteen or twenty seconds, eventually he will get open. We need to get some kind of pressure or disruption from the front line, make them miss that 3rd and long, and get the Rams OFF THE FIELD on 3rd and 4th downs. Otherwise they will just run and pass on the Saints, pretty much at will, and make things MUCH harder than they need to be. There's no question we can score more points than they can -- it's just a question of how difficult is it gonna be to do it.

Their run defense is good, but not THAT good. They haven't really faced many true MVP-caliber running backs, and when they have, the Rams don't do as well (Turner, Gore being good examples). Whether our backs are good enough to give them problems, I don't really know.

I also thoroughly expect the Rams to throw the kitchen sink at the Saints -- trick plays, fake punts, squib kicks, reverses, muddle huddles, and a lot of going for it on 4th down -- in short, this game is going to be another circus.

Bradford is going to be good. Just not when he plays the Saints.

This is close game

Saints 23
Rams 17
Another close one? Please say it ain't so. Just tackle Steven Jackson and force them into 3rd and longs all day. Then we should be O.K.
