Saints signed LB Kawika Mitchell.
Mitchell began the year on the Bills' injury list but was eventually released after negotiating an injury settlement. The veteran will give the Saints some nice depth but won't be counted on to make much of an impact. Saints placed RB Ladell Betts on injured reserve with a neck injury, ending his season. Betts has missed the last two games, and with Pierre Thomas slated to return this weekend he's no longer needed. Linebacker Kawika Mitchell has replaced him on the roster. per rotoworld Very low risk signing... was a solid player prior to injury. Might be a Cox or Morgan signing but we've got nothing to lose here. Last edited by papz; 12-24-2011 at 07:46 PM.. |

Halo,
Not debating your comment re; Saints defense, but when ST gives an opponent the ball on the 40 or Saints kick it out of bounds...then surely ST needs some shoring up as well. I will go out on a limb and say the Saints ST SUCK! LOLOLOLOLOL |

Replacement For Shanle!
Better Stats than Shanle over all. Better Sack Stats than Vilma. 23 lbs heavier... 4.5-4.6 40 yd Pretty much the same combine stats as Vilma but a little heavier. |

While Mitchell did spend a brief time at WLB, his most successful position has been MLB. I assure you he was picked up to backup and spell Vilma, if need be. Don't forget that our MLB backup, Stanley Arnoux, was just placed in injured reserve.

Low risk.....high reward. It sounds like another typical front office move.
