Re-Pick This Past Year's Draft - a do-over's perspective.
If you had a do-over, would you still pick who SP picked?
2010 NFL Draft redux has Dez Bryant to Raiders - Don Banks - SI.com Mr Banks had us picking Pierre-Paul instead now.... Do you prefer that pick? I, for one, am glad we got Robinson. They (SP and GW) were aiming for New England's pick of McCourty who is a beast. Please Opine. | |

Very good question, I love Robinson and the potential for the future. But I do see Banks point that for now the Saints could have really used Pierre-Paul. Overall, I think Robinson was the correct choice, the Saints will have so issues to work out with the front 7 this offseason. GW has done a nice job at covering the overall weakness of the group, but that is only going to last for so long.

Yeah I agree that Robinson was the correct pick for us in the draft, even if it seemed bizarre at the point. CB is a position where a ton of depth is needed at all times, plus Robinson has a real bright future, he just needs to adjust a little better but as rookie CB's your gunna get beat, the good thing is that Robinson hasn't allowed any big plays when he's been in.
As for the coming draft and offseason, multiple front seven positions are in need of an upgrade, DE DT and outside backer, we need some speed on the outside to get to the QB's so the corners don't have to hold up in coverage for so long. At the minute because GW sends overload blitzes, teams find the middle of the field open sometimes, because so many people are blitzing. It's been said that GW has done a great job of creating a pass rush without many dominant blitzers, apart from roman harper the dude is a sack machine at safety. |
