this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Am I right on this? If so we sit the final week, right? Giants would have same conference record as us if we both went 11-5 and we would be a game better on common games?...

We still have a sliver of a chance at HFA, so I guess we have to keep going all out.
If we end up in a 4 way tie with the Eagles, Falcons at Bears at 12-4, I think we would have HFA. We would win the NFC South over the Falcons due to division record. We would beat out the Bears and Eagles because we would be 10-2 against the NFC and they would both be 9-3. So its like this: Lose out, we may need help to make the playoffs. Win one game and we clinch the #5 seed. Win out and Atlanta beats Carolina and we are still the #5 seed. Win out and Atlanta loses to Carolina and we get HFA. Saints What If? |

Without getting into the strength of victory / strength of schedule tiebreakers, I can tell that we would need to finish ahead of the Packers and Bucs if we were to lose out and wanted to get the #6 seed.
That would mean that GB would need to lose two (NE, NYG, CHI) and TB would need to lose against Seattle. |
