How 'bout dat D?
ZERO.
That's how many points allowed by the Saints D in the second half and OT. ZERO. I don't care that the Funky Fowls stink... pass out the game balls. Fred Thomas -- huge INT and two, jaw-rattlin' hits Orlando Ruff -- seven solo tackles (two assists) Darren Howard -- three tackles and a sack to christen the new turf Yep, I know the run D is still an issue. At least we kept points off the board. |

How 'bout dat D?
I can\'t say enough about the defense. Yeah they gave up a couple of long runs, but other than that they shut the run down for the most part. This defense is very opportunistic. They make plays at the most critical of times.
Darren Howard made a big difference in there today. The Falcons played maximum protection on offense today and Howard was using all kind of spin moves to pressure the QB. I\'m glad Fred Thomas finially held on to the ball. He\'s playing pretty well....... [Edited on 17/11/2003 by BillyC] |

This D played great. They gave up a lot of rushing yards to Dunn - but that\'s the standard for this team. Dunn must have close to 800 total yards in their last three games dating back to last season. And everything else goes out the window when you play the birds. They need to keep playing like this the rest of the season. Philly, NY, and Washington are much more formidable on O. They need to keep stepping it up. If the O just eliminates the mistakes, we\'ll roll. Stop the penalties, stop the drops, and stop the turnovers and we\'re playoff bound. Yeah, those are huge IFs, but they\'re manageable. We\'ve got a shot boys.

I think a lot of us have to eat crow about Jay Bellamy. He has been playing his butt off this season and has been solid. Good job Jay.
