GAME BALLS
OFFENSE-
Deuce-I'm giving him a game ball because I know he'd give it right back to me and say "I don't deserve it after two fumbles" That’s class and in the NFL its rare. Brooks-Debateable because as good as he looked late, he looked just as bad earlier. But when the game was on the line, he delivered. That strike to Lewis was sweet. DEFENSE- Fred Thomas-He's too small and too slow, but continues to make play after play. Darren Howard-Stats don't show how disruptive he was, even though he looked rusty at times. (Could go to entire D-line also, they gave up a couple big runs but still basically dominated). Jay Bellamy-The "WEAK-LINK" continues to make plays. SPECIAL TEAMS- John Carney-I also loved this guy during his 1st tenure here, when his name was Andersen. COACHING- Venturi-Take away 2 plays by mighty-mouse and we absolutely totally dominated the Falcons. STAND IN THE CORNER- Linebackers-Only because I rarely heard their names. Man I wish we had an Urlacher or Lewis, or Brooking, or Brooks. McCarthy-Still WAY too predictable. Falcon LB's were unblocked and nailed Deuce 3 yards behind line on several occasions. It was like we let them chose which play we ran. TEAM GRADE-B Played bad early, but sucked it up and delivered when it counted. I've seen the Saints quit this type of game 1000 times before. This team is starting to resemble something I'm unfamiliar with in New Orleans. |
