Game Ball to the Defense!
Gotta say - These guys were challenged to step up to the mark after a poor outing in Baltimore.
You guys played great, the Run D apart from the one long run was great. Michael Turner couldn't get anything going, a running game can take over sometimes but we never let them get going. My main shout out goes to someone who was just thrust into the starting role, Jo-Lonn Dunbar. He had the stupid penalty for smacking matt ryan when he does down (i loved seeing ryan get hit anyway) However Jo-Lonn gave 110% all game, he was in the backfield stopping turner for a loss. I thought when i saw Danny Clark inactive that Dunbar would struggle, but he really stepped up to the plate and gave every bit of effort he had. AND once again malcolm Jenkins Was a pretty quiet outing for jenkins, but he made big plays when they were needed, Batted pass on a 3rd and 18, he was solid in coverage all night. Big props to the D, ya'll answered the challenge and i'm soooo happy we beat the clowns!! |

Dunbar played really well...the Saints D looked very stout and looked like they had something to prove after the Ravens ran through us. Excellent D

Talk about major repairs in one week (ON THE ROAD!!!). Great adjustment! Michael Turner? First fumble in like 400 carries?

After last weeks ass whoopin on us by Ray Rice it was great to see the defense take pride and step up and absolutely shut down the Falcons in their dome. Turner did nothing except break his fumble streak. Matt Ryan couldn't even move the ball in the second half. Did Gonzo even dress for the game? Roddy White was too busy yapping to do anything. It was a nice slamming of the door on their offense.
Their defense really played a great game too and almost took over the game and stole it for them. Glad to go in there and crush that home field illusion the Falcons prop themselves on. We'll be glad to come in there and do it again in the post season for ya. Falcons aren't going anywhere. They don't have the stones to play in the playoffs. |

I would not look forward to playing Atlanta again in the playoffs - these games are a crapshoot and we can't get any breathing room against the Dirty Birds, they always play us close.

They did it up last night. Great job by the defense.
Dunbar, Smith, Vilma and Jenkins were solid. Charleston causing that fumble was also HUGE. This game was a lot closer than it really should have been... Brees trying to avoid the sack, the tip/pick turnover, the lucky non-TD to Lance Moore, the Smith blow-to-the-head to cancel the holding penalty he drew on the lineman, and we overcame the Colton TD false-start by Bushrod. It should have been more like 34-14, but I'll take it. If we eliminate our mistakes, we handle every team we face from here. |
