PFW's "the way we hear it"
New Orleans
This was supposed to be QB Aaron Brooks’ breakout season, the year that he took the reins of the Saints and made the team his own. But inconsistency and inaccuracy submarined his chances to become a vocal leader for the club, and some insiders believe that Brooks should leave the leadership role to other players who are more prepared to handle the responsibility. Brooks has turned in some poor performances in the past when he presses on the field, and we’re told he put a lot of pressure on himself early in the season not only to be more vocal, but also to lead by example. The result was that he lost his focus and still forced plays, problems that plagued his first two full years as a starter in the Big Easy. There are some who believe that Brooks never will make the jump to being a superstar QB, but it seems the Saints are OK with that scenario. Team observers say the front office and coaching staff are 100 percent behind Brooks, and there is no question who will be the team’s quarterback in the future. |

PFW's "the way we hear it"
If the front office figures that brooks won\'t cost us games and don\'t want to draft a new guy that\'s fine I guess.
It doesn\'t read like they think we have a first ballot hall of famer here either. I guess even average guys can be OK if they have above average skill position players. What I don\'t get is why an average qb is getting a great contract? |

Ahhhhhhh Gator -- Hey I was just playing around. Say what you want about whatever you want, but why are you worried about what I\'m saying? The only one starting something is you by calling me short sighted. You need to read your own post my friend.
P.S. -- Even if I were being serious, there was nothing wrong with what I said. It was neither insulting or a personal attack. What you posted could be considered a personal attack. It\'s posts like yours that get\'s things stirred up. I don\'t agree with many things you say but I state my opinion on the subject and hand, rather than call you short sighted. I\'d suggest you try doing the samething. [Edited on 20/11/2003 by BillyC] |

Gator -- This isn\'t about Aaron Brooks. This is about me making a playful post and then you telling me I\'m SHORT SIGHTED. Then you go on trying to tell me how I should think. Do you even understand what it is you are saying? Why do you want to make this personal? You are not a moderator of this board and I haven\'t said anything wrong, even if you were.

PFW's "the way we hear it"
Gator -- As far as the article goes. This aritcle doesn\'t sound very crediable to me. He uses phrases like \"some insiders believe \" Well, who are these folks. The waterboy? Who?
And here\'s my favorite!! \"There are some who believe that Brooks never will make the jump to being a superstar QB.\" Some that believe? Is he talking about fans, media, coaches? Sounds like someone doing a lot of creative writing to me. I agree with some things that he says about Brooks. But, I don\'t beleive ALL of what he is saying. Whether it be a sports writer bashing Brooks or a member here, it doesn\'t bother me. Like I said, I was only joking. |

PFW's "the way we hear it"
Well Gator, I\'m trying to be sensetive to everyone\'s opinions. But, people jab at me all day long. It\'s all in fun. I really try not to take it too seriously and I try not to be too serious when disagreeing with someone.
L.S.U all the way. I live here in Mississippi and I\'m trying to get to like the local teams, but I just can\'t seem to do it. Tigers should win this one easy.... |

Ole Miss doesn\'t scare me...but Arkansas does. It\'s too easy to see them play spoiler late in the season, and since they have a good record at doing it, it scares me. They have always played up to our level, regardless of rankings.
