Offensive lines
Hi, being new to this site and a lifelong Saints fan I hope everyone will suffer the ignorance of my question kindly..... if indeed it is that....
In evaluating teams, one of the things I like to consider is the relative stregnth of the offensive line. Unfortunately, I haven't found a site that ranks them from 1 to 32, run blocking and pass blocking, respectively. ( I think both types of blocking require distinctly different talents.) I also consider this one of the most overlooked aspects of the game to the media outlets ( a la ESPN, et all). I have heard considerations like "average weight", number of "pancakes", yards per carry by the RB, number of sacks, and a few other stats that would make up the actual performance of the unit. However, I think that individual experience, and unit teamwork are also very important. I also would like to know who everyone thinks are the top, say, 5 offensive lines in the league today. You can distinguish between run and pass if you wish. I would appreciate anyone's input and summation. Thanks and Geaux Saints!!! Seattle Saint |
