The New Orleans Saints have been preparing for their trip to Seattle to face the Seahawks in an opening round playoff game this Saturday. Only they haven't been able to prepare for which quarterback they would be facing.
At least until now. Seattle's coach Pete Carroll said Thursday after practice that Matt Hasselbeck will be staring for the team in the Wild Card Playoff game on Saturday afternoon. Hasselbeck has been sharing reps all week with Charlie Whitehurst who started the season finale against the St. Louis Rams. The starter most of the season missed the final game due to a hip injury. Whitehurst's performance against the Rams wasn't impressive, but it also wasn't too bad. The back-up completed 22 of 26 passes for 192 yards and one touchdown. The win over St. Louis gave Seattle the NFC West title and the final spot in the NFC playoffs. I faintly remember we held their rushing game to under 50 yards, forcing them to be somewhat pass happy...
