THE RUNDOWN: There is hope that the Saints can defend their Super Bowl title. But there are expectations that the Saints will knock off a 7-9 Seahawks squad in the postseason opener. New Orleans is a rare double-digt road playoff favorite.
2:15 p.m. Good news--the radar in Seattle shows that the precipitation is decreasing around Seattle. Still a chance of rain but not much of a chance for snow. Mostly cloudy with temperatures in the lower 40s with light rain likely. Winds are moderate, out of the south from 5 to 10 miles per hour. 2:05 p.m. Saints inactives: FS Malcolm Jenkins (kneecap), TE Jimmy Graham (ankle), DT Anthony Hargrove (knee), LB Danny Clark (hamstring), S Matt Giordano, WR Adrian Arrington, T Charles Brown, RB Joique Bell. One thing to watch for at Qwest Field today is the Saints offensive line, specifically, false starts. Since 2005, opposing teams have committed 104 false start penalties, an alarming figure, widely attributable to the amazing noise factor at Qwest Field, one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL. 2:00 p.m. Greetings--Can the Saints two-peat? They begin their post-season journey this afternoon in cold, rainy, possibly snowy Seattle. That's right. There is a slight chance of snow in the precipitation that will fall at Qwest Field. The Saints are 5-6 all-time in the playoffs and are seeking their first-ever road playoff win. FROM NEWORLEANS.COM |
