Question for the forum
Should the Saints have gone for the 1st down/TD instead of kicking the FG when they were inside the 5 yard line?
I think they should have. The defense, (I realize that is a tall order), may have gotten a safety, forced a turnover or forced a punt. |

In hindsight a lot of things should have been done differently...

no. there was still over 9 minutes left in the game and our D had just got done shutting down seattle for two or three drives in a row. i thought it was the right call to get the 3.

I said kick the field goal then and I stand by it now.If the defense would have made a tackle. We would have won.

FG was a good call...2nd-3rd and goal wasn't! Not throwing into the endzone is just sick. Send 4/5 guys low/high in/out and let Brees pick his shot. There was plenty of time left to justify taking the 3 points. There's no justification for not throwing into the endzone from close range when Brees is doing the throwing.

I thought they should've gone for it on 4th down with 4 minutes left in the ballgame. It was 4th and 8 and that's easy for us any other day of the week. No balls on the road equals 0-4 in the playoffs on the road.

I agreed with the FG and also with going for it on 4th and short earlier. It wasn't the play calling that lost the game today, it was the execution on defense.

Are you kidding the way The D was playing, I wouldn't have left anything up to them.
