ANYBODY A JET FAN TODAY?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Colts OUT. NE Pats OUT. No one in the media or NE fans saw that coming. Of course I am glad SS and AF are out. Yeah, the Saints are out and I have to accept that, I am glad ...

Yeah, the Saints are out and I have to accept that, I am glad those other two teams are out too.
I would like to think of it this way is that the Saints started the trend of new teams, teams who have not been in the contest in a while, getting in. Something new.
I am glad the Jets won and Chicago won.

Still and always

Um, wouldn't that have been started the year before by Arizona? That was the Card's first trip wasn't it?

And, um, two years before that in '06 was the Colts first SB in a very long time. Against a Bears team that hadn't been to a Super Bowl since the mid 80's.

And the year before that in '05 the Seahawks took their first trip to the SB.

And, like two years before that in '03 Carolina went for the first time.

And the year before that in '02 Tampa went for the first time... Against a Raiders team that hadn't been in 19 years.

And two years before in 2000 was the Ravens first trip.

And the year before that was the Titans first trip in '99.

And the year before that in '98 was Atlanta's first trip.

So '07, '04, and '01 are the only 3 seasons since '97 that didn't involve a team that had never been to the big dance, or hadn't been for about two decades. I hate to say it, but if a "New team" trend started, it started about 13 years ago with the Falcons.
