Add a bum knee, No running game and our receivers dropping passes left right and centre (or just batting them up in the air) If it was serious or not, That injury would still keep a number of guys out and Brees chose to play on it. The guys passion for the team, city and the game is unmatched. Hes a competitor and no one should ever question his toughness, Brees is the reason the franchise is where it is at the minute - the franchise being a constant competitor. |

I completely agree all the way. Brees is an undeniable talent. He possesses traits and qualities that make him the best QB in the league. Noone else would've shown the toughness to play through everything, the responsibility to take blame for all of his own mistakes, and the heart to just get knocked down by so many INTs and close games, and yet, still get back up and drag our team into the playoffs. To elaborate, whilst we did lose to Seattle, Brees made sure that they needed 40+ for it to happen. He always does his part. Had we got past Seattle, I'm more than confident that we would be the proud, soon to be, owners of 2 Lombardis. Respect to Brees, and bring on next year, because we aren't #1 and we're gonna be hungry something fierce!

Certainly explains the increase in interceptions during that time. If it wasn't the championship game and if Cutler hadn't looked so disengaged we wouldn't even had noticed. If Brees would have gone out like Cutler he would have been doing everything he could to help his back-ups on the sidelines.
