Looks like the saints already made that choice, Bouman is signed, sealed and delivered for 3 more yrs. I can\'t see Haslett benching Brooks under any circumstance and I do mean any. If Brooks got shot in the head today we would have a #2 pine box starting at QB on Sunday.

I think Haz plays the guy he thinks gives him the best shot at winning.
Obviously he thinks Brooks is that guy.
Bouman starts only if Brooks gets injured, or we\'re eliminated from playoffs.

I think the Saints think Brooks injury may be more serious than originally thought, or that he may be too fragile for the long term.

Just a conspiracy theory thought...

It might be better to sign Bouman now than risk exposing his talent to the rest of the league and being unable to afford him next year.

Maybe a change at QB is looming and they don\'t want to enter a bid-war for Bouman.

If he comes in and lights it up there will be 12 teams trying to sign him.

Haslett is willing to tank the season to avoid competition for Brooks ........
