I\'m glad the Saints have extended Bouman\'s contract...now they need to play him.

There\'s a downside to this, of course. Next year Brooks will complain that he\'s not getting enough money over what his backup is making so he\'s gonna be a no-show at training camp...come to think of it, that might not be a downside at all.

As an update here are the terms of Boumans contract.

PERSONNEL MATTERS: Saints backup quarterback Todd Bouman signed a three-year contract extension worth $3.805 million, according to league documents. Bouman will be paid annual base salaries of $725,000, $750,000 and $700,000 through 2006, plus a $1.255 million signing bonus in March. He is due a $300,000 roster bonus in 2006 and annual $25,000 workout bonuses.
