My most vivid memory actually happened BEFORE the game even started. And it's the story behind my Avatar. I had bought a ticket on site for face value, so i was just glad to get in, and my seat was in the last row of the endzone. I was surrounded by colts fans, and they all looked like a bunch of nerds. They all had their jerseys tucked in, wearing belts, all nice and neat - typical midwestern. I had my jersey tucked out (just like all the other Saints fans) so I stood out, especially since I was by myself. My buddies had seats down at the lower end of the opposite endzone, and I was able to join them right before halftime.
Anyway, Carrie Underwood sang the National Anthem, and right afterwards, I remember the fighter jets all of a sudden appearing from the other end of the stadium and then flying right over my head - it sent chills up my spine. At that moment it HIT me to think how lucky i was to be a saints fan and an american, and I let out a huge "Who Dat!" The Colts fans looked at me like I was crazy but I didn't care. It was an awesome feeling. |
