Willie Whithead

Plus These guys will be at 100%

Norman Hand
Charlie Clemons
Grady Jackson
Fred Thomas

So now that we will have the defense for the second half against far weaker competition than we faced the first half without a healthy defense, I am really expecting the Saints to go deep in the playoffs:

San Diego Deep.

Ok, I give up. My hand is hovering over the mail slot to mail in for my tickets. This could be it. I guess we\'ll see what happens next. It sure looks good from here.

Dale Carter is a shut down corner , with a drug problem . Hopefully the drug issues can be eliminated and the Saints have a shut down Corner . He played for Minnesota and Denver and was busted on both their teams . Even with all his issues, he is a 4 time Pro Bowler . When healthy he is one of the top 10 corners in the league .Saints fans screamed when Ambrose went to Atlanta , Carter is twice as good as Ambrose .Carter will almost make opposing quarterbacks play to one side of the field , allow the defense to blitz more and free up Knight to go head hunting .

In my opinion the defense just got better ....

I agree Saints08, this guy can make a difference. If he keeps his head on straight it will make the field smaller. I\'m like most other fans, I don\'t know how you can stop an abuser unless he wants to. Let\'s just hope he does, and has learned a lesson this time.

You have to remember , Dale Carter filed bankruptcy earlier in the year , so the man is short on cash and hungry to play . He should make it through this season and the Saints can draft a high pick corner in the draft . Just in case .

Who knows for sure what the guy is going to do off the field. I wouldn\'t stake any bets on it. But on the field Dale is an all-pro. He has been that since his rookie year. Teams will be reluctant to throw at him and the Saints will be able to play more man schemes. Our linebackers should be the big beneficiaries and in turn their increased run support should help the line. Hopefully, big brother Jake can be the influence the Saints hoped for when the two siblings were signed. All we can do is wait and see. Hopefully we are not looking at a Dexter Manley type story.

Next year we need to get another corner for insurance. This way if Dale has a relapse, we won\'t get caught with our pants down again like the first hafl of this season.

I tend to agree with ya\'ll. I think next years draft will be spent mostly on the defensive side of the ball. If there\'s a really good cover corner I think that will be where the Saints start. As for Brady James, the guy is good, fast and strong. Another thing about James, look at the draw he\'d be after playing at LSU. Might help ticket sales. But hey, I look for the defense to be much improved in the second half of the season. With Dale back and almost everybody healthy, this should be a much improved unit.
