-- Hello Landon... I've met you, right?
Been very busy lately, but am so happy to see yall keeping this thread going. As some of you know, I've had a loss in my family, due to long term illness, not surprised by it, but you're never really ready. Its good that her suffering is over, and she now sings with my grandma in Heaven. Im feeling peaceful. Let me add some humor to this post. (My sister had a very "wrong" sense of humor, believe me, she would be laughing at me right now.) I came down with Bells Palsy. No, its hilarious. Its supposedly fixable. So far, no progress. I think Case is freakin'. Now I look as dumb as I really am. I cant drink without spewing. Eating is ridiculous. And when I smile, it looks like, "Hi, Im from _____ ." (fill in name of disrespected, low class community.) We MUST get pictures of me like this, in case it does get cured. Again, trust me, my sister would have a field day with this. You would have loved (or been offended by) her huge sense of humor. Here's more. My sis and bro-in-law were from a country town near... Atlanta. Yes, Atlanta. She didnt do much sports, but did call to congratulate me when the Saints won. But Bro-In-Law, is Falcons, back to Bartkowski, Van Note, etc. Of course, like all his neighbors, his real love is the Bulldogs. This year, after our loss to the Ravens, (Those of you at Ragin Cajun remember how upset I was...) Soon as I got home my phone rang... It was Edwin-- in his country-self voice, calling to laugh at me. "Hey there, Brother, I just called to give you some sh** cuz your Saints lost." I couldnt have had a better consolation. Its great to have him around. We have so much in common, and even though he roots for the wrong team, he remembers all the same stories I do. (He was no Vick fan.) We both like sports and history and talking about what the hell is wrong with the world. He's a country boy too, like me. He's also the same kind of Baptist as me-- Loves Jesus, and not ashamed to say so. Doesnt mind a sip of Jack Daniels. Like me, his best friends are Catholics too. He's been there the whole time thru my sister's long illness, no questions, 100% there. My family cannot figure what we did to deserve the best husband my sister could have had. Not that we're ever gonna lose to his durn Falcons again, but now you'll know if we did, somehow, why there'd be a little tiny .001% of me thats not feeling all that bad. Yall pray for my brother in law Edwin. So, we, the Hou-Dats have some serious fun to have again, and nothing makes me happier than to know I'll see you all again soon, wherever, maybe at my house? If they dont settle the CBA, then we'll thump the little paper triangle football across my kitchen table, and we can argue on the correct way to make a hand goalpost? I personally, believe you should put your thumbs together---thats NFL sized. "Fingers together" is a college goalpost. Everybody smile and remember there's always something to be happy about. See you soon! |

Lockout over. Lets have some crabs.
So, Casey bought tickets to the Texans preseason game, and the tailgate will be on. Ed, I'll get a cooling device for Edvina, if you'll get the generator. Lets be comfortable this year. Some actual preparation will make that possible. Looking forward to seeing you all soon. |

I want to carpool but the pre-game tailgate is questionable; it is just re-donk-culas with plus 100 degree temperatures on the blacktop of Reliant Stadium parking lots. HOU-DAT! |

There is always the bar at the Holiday Inn just on the north side of the stadium.

stay tuned monday for the beginning of our Reliant Tailgate III planning.
thinking about what we'll need --- if you happen to have a couple things... would like a tent, generator, box fan, cooker? etc. |
