Shockey sure was key to Jersey sales...
And if you ask teammates, they'll tell you he contributed more than his stat lines suggested... |
I knew was coming but I thought he would last aleast one more year but the part of the business. We have over 30 free agents to sign back and we have to free money up from were ever we can.
|
Sorry to see him go he has contributed to the team
|
This is going to kill my youngest daughter. She loves Jeremy. When I went to buy her first jersey; she wanted Jeremy's. I still haven't got the heart to tell her.
I hate this happened and I will miss him. However, if it is what is best for the team.....that reduces the sting. Best of luck to you Jeremy. You will always be a Saint. |
He could be signed again. Gonna miss him though...
Gotta free up some dough for Brees. |

Well, I've been out of pocket, and I just found out about an hour ago. I'm pissed!! I know it's part of football...but damn!! He quickly became one of my favorite Saints players. Like Sapper and Niteadept, he was one of my little girls favorite players, behind Brees of coarse. She will be crushed. I think our magical season of 2009 would not have been complete if not for his leadership and winning attitude. Thanks you Jeremy for helping to make long suffering Saints fans dreams come true. You will always be a Saint in my book. You will be missed.

hate to hear it, not surprised, would love if he resigns for less and plays in as the second TE, he would be less likely to get hurt, extend his career, and stay a Saint, not likely though

Losers ??

Unless Shockey wants to sign on for less (Obvious) and be a mentor of sorts, similar to Brunell and his tenure with us, he likely won't ever be a Saint again. I suspect this is less about Shockey not being capable and more about the New Orleans brass wanting to get started on developing their franchise TE. If Graham meets half the expectations that the Saints have for him, he will be a major player for at least 5 years.
|
I dont get it. I think he's a cut above most TE's, and he's aging into that leadership thing. count me among the disappointed.

Shockey has a ring and a long history of success.
The last thing he is is a "loser." Only Tom Coughlin and one internet poster have anything negative to say about him. And Coughlin has since learned he was mistaken. (see below) http://cache2.asset-cache.net/xc/922...C53310F1CA1E9D Any Questions? |
Players like that aren't replaced easily, Jimmy has some big shoes to fill that is if he can stay healthy too
|
Well, he just passed a physical for the fins. He's from there - well, he lives there anyway - so maybe that'd be a good fit. I truly wish the best for him.

Yeah he'd fit but the dolphins gm said "no thanks" not sure if that's true or not
|
I always liked Shockey but liked him even more when he left the Gnats and became a Saint.
Glad he got a ring with you guys and I'm sure he'll retire a Saint. :bng: |
