Will the Saints look at Tiki Barber?
Rotoworld
Newsday's Bob Glauber reports the Giants will set Tiki Barber free once he's reinstated by the NFL. As expected. Tiki heavily criticized coach Tom Coughlin in his first season as an NBC analyst while also accusing the coach of "robbing" him of "the joy" of football in his 2007 book. ESPN's Adam Schefter speculates that John Fox's Broncos, Sean Payton's Saints, and Raheem Morris' Bucs could take a long look at Barber. Fox and Payton were on the Giants staff early in Barber's career. Tiki's twin brother is a virtual player-coach in Tampa Personally, I don't see us doing this, but what do you guys think? |
Please god no.
I would say no mostly because he's coming out of retirement because he decided to start working out again. I wouldn't have much faith in his durability. It might be a waste of a roster spot.
No thanks. He's a baby. Cue pics of babies crying please.
No.
Sure could have used him about 2 months ago.
But no, a 35 year old running back who hasn't played in 4 years? I'd sonner go after Rickey Williams or Willis McGahee than Barber. |
Can I get a heck no ?!!
This is ESPN bull crap at its finest... Adam Schefter hears Tiki is coming back, he looks at 1) is one of his past coaches still coaching? 2) does he have a brother still playing? 3) is there a team where they say any RB could come in and play? The answer to all three questions are yes (Payton, Ronde is still going in TB, and Denver has the rep of getting production out of any RB true or not), so he says that they are possibilities.
I can't imagine any team wanting to pick him up. Not only is he waaaay over the average age of an NFL back, he hasn't played in several years! Absolutely not... we can do better with an UDFA with more upside, I got my share of old crap backs last season. |
if they do i will throw up
What's worst then **** NO!!!!!!!!!!
Taking up a roster spot at his age, I can't see any team considering it as as a viable option, even as a camp body. If he was an upstanding person, maybe, he could add needed leadership but he is the farthest thing from it.
Hell to the No!!
Pfffttt
Seriously. Seriously? Uh, how about no...
oh' please
Just reading the first few post on this one.
I don't think I need to say anything on this. They have said it all for me. |
god no please
Is it April 1 already?
I know he won't be playing but what I want to know is who would name their child after a cheap backyard lamp?
No.
No, the NO Saints will not look at him nor will any NFLteam. Seems like Tiki is in fantasy land, needs some money, and thinks football is his way. Hmmm, I wonder why. LOL!! No. No tv pre-game sports tv show will pick him and he is out as for be a gameday host. He had it all and through it all away. |
I seriously thought this was a joke when i saw the headline lol
is archie manning in good shape, he might consider a come back to? lol |
What a joke, so what if Sean coached him in NY keep him away from this team
I'm all for it.
Why?
no way. keep him outta here.
id take him over julius fumbles jones
Man leave his a$$ where he's at I don't want to see Tiki anywhere near our team with his broke a$$ that the only reason his trying to come back he's broke and he needs money.
I say give him a shot in training camp/preseason and see if he has anything left. If he still has it then great. If not then nothing lost. Of course I am more in favor of bringing in younger backs, but you never know. His four years away from the game is a big negative and he is now 35. I do think he is a genuine a-hole, but the Saints have plenty enough leadership to keep him in his place... Still, this would be a major long shot as there are better options available.

In British English, if someone says "don't pull my leg" they want you to stop playing a joke on them; to stop telling fibs and to tell the truth. There is a sense of good humour about the whole concept, but it may not have always been so. The origin is found in a Scottish rhyme in which "draw" is used in the sense of "pull" rather than the word itself. It goes: He preached, and at last drew the auld body's leg, Sae the Kirk got the gatherins o' our Aunty Meg. The suggestion in the rhyme is that Aunty Meg was hung for a crime and, at the end, the preacher pulled on her legs to ensure that she was dead. The rather more sombre overtones of this possibility than are apparent in the British use of the phrase are mirrored in the American usage, where there is much more a feeling of trickery and deception when the saying is used. |
I'm sure they'll look at him if he's asking questions during an interview.
