Will the Saints look at Tiki Barber?
Rotoworld
Newsday's Bob Glauber reports the Giants will set Tiki Barber free once he's reinstated by the NFL. As expected. Tiki heavily criticized coach Tom Coughlin in his first season as an NBC analyst while also accusing the coach of "robbing" him of "the joy" of football in his 2007 book. ESPN's Adam Schefter speculates that John Fox's Broncos, Sean Payton's Saints, and Raheem Morris' Bucs could take a long look at Barber. Fox and Payton were on the Giants staff early in Barber's career. Tiki's twin brother is a virtual player-coach in Tampa Personally, I don't see us doing this, but what do you guys think? |

I would say no mostly because he's coming out of retirement because he decided to start working out again. I wouldn't have much faith in his durability. It might be a waste of a roster spot.

Sure could have used him about 2 months ago.
But no, a 35 year old running back who hasn't played in 4 years? I'd sonner go after Rickey Williams or Willis McGahee than Barber. |

This is ESPN bull crap at its finest... Adam Schefter hears Tiki is coming back, he looks at 1) is one of his past coaches still coaching? 2) does he have a brother still playing? 3) is there a team where they say any RB could come in and play? The answer to all three questions are yes (Payton, Ronde is still going in TB, and Denver has the rep of getting production out of any RB true or not), so he says that they are possibilities.
I can't imagine any team wanting to pick him up. Not only is he waaaay over the average age of an NFL back, he hasn't played in several years! Absolutely not... we can do better with an UDFA with more upside, I got my share of old crap backs last season. |
