The 18 games option probably was created as a leverage ploy to bring to the table; bottom line is that players should never have had 50% or more of the revenues - that's Socialism...

It would suck for us, Saints fans, but maybe it's time the players find out they are replaceable and they'll appreciate what they are earning and that they are only current stewarts of the NFL legacy...

Me and you both Breesfan. I knew it was a ridiculous idea the first time I heard of it. I like the preseason games so we can see who and what we have, and adding two more games to the end of the regular season is just more opputunities to get the players injured. All the owners saw out of it was two more weeks of TV revenue. My idea was to leave the preseason alone, leave the regular season at a 16 game schedule, but add two more bye weeks into the season. The players are healthier and the owners still get their two more weeks of TV revenues. Everybody is happy.

I just dont know if I could do three bye weeks, (I can do it, if the rest of you can.) but I totally agree with giving the players extra time for healing and rest --- and making the season longer --- 18 weeks of football !!!!!!
