We need a short RB

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I wasn't aware that 8 of the top 10 RB's of all time in the NFL have been short (5'10" and under). Granted, there were other factors involved in their success and there are some good taller backs out there ...

We need a short RB

I wasn't aware that 8 of the top 10 RB's of all time in the NFL have been short (5'10" and under). Granted, there were other factors involved in their success and there are some good taller backs out there but it would be another aspect teams would have to gameplan for. Ivory and Bush are 6', PT is close to it. If we had a RB that was 5'9" or so it would disrupt the way defenses tackle just enough to open up the run game a little more. I'm just brainstorming here but are there any decent short backs in the draft this year?

4 of the top 7 backs in this year's draft are 5'10 and under. If we are going to spend a draft pick on a running back, I'm hoping it won't be until the latter rounds.

I wonder, since the pending lockout looms, if the NFL would consider 'little people' football. That could be interesting...
