Something to Ponder: Saints worst LB pick of the century

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; (2000-present) Cie Grant (3rd round, 2003). Former coach Jim Haslett raved about Grant and Grant did nothing for the Saints. He tallied three total tackles in his rookie season and finished his career with only three total tackles. Oh boy......

I was actually excited about Cie Grant because Jim raved about him sooooo much, i thought he was going to pull a Ditka/Ricky and do a Marriage cover with him or something..

Mind you this was after a past 2 very successful Seasons with Haslett as Coach, so everybody was on board with anything he said, we even had shirts with "HECKOVA!" on it lol.. Cie Grant got a lot of "HECKOVA'S" so before the season even started we were ampd up about him.

Not fair, a career ending injury shouldn't qualify a player as a bad pick.

I'd vote Sedrick Hodge or Coutney Watson.

I had hopes for all those guys. The Saints have been so weak at LB since the early 90's until the new 51 arrived.

Colby Bokwoldt (I must have spelled that wrong) also was a let down. When he picked #57 for his jersey I thought that he either had no clue or that he felt pretty sure of himself. Maybe he didn't care. I dunno.

Don't forget about Stanley Arnoux, although the jury is still out. But so far after 2 years... nothing.

Alvin Toles usually gets a mention in these threads, but in his defense,
how are you going to break into the Dome Patrol. He would have played
on a lot of other teams.

Fincher was also a disappointment. I really thought Hodge was going to become a player... he was pretty good in college.

I don't know if I would use Colby as one... he was a 7th round pick and the odds were already stacked against him. At least we got some numbers out of him.
