Morstead was Loomis/Payton.

And weapon and Punter should never be used in the same sentence.

Of course we only picked 2, Morstead and Melhaf.

If you wanna include LS I'd say Kevin Houser was a much better pick that Morstead, who is only a punter

I don't think that's fair Danno. In a game of field position, I've always considered Shane Lechler a weapon on special teams... and he's a punter.

Can you name a less important position on a team, in any sport?

Maybe the Long Snapper?

And you don't burn two picks in a four pick draft to pick a punter. There's a reason only 1 or 2 punters are picked every year, and mostly in the 6th or 7th round, and in nearly every instance this century the team that picked one had 7 or more picks.

Guys who ride the pine earning a pay check not seeing a single snap regardless of position.

I agree with this... on the same note, at least it worked out for us.

But I'm not arguing this point with you... it's not about Morestead. It's you saying "punter" and "weapon" should never be used in the same sentence. Lechler is an invaluable weapon... one of the best if not the best in the league. When he booms those 60 yard punts down field, he's a weapon. Brian Moorman would be another guy that I would call a weapon. Not only is he a elite punter, he's ridiculously athletic and keeps teams on their toes with his ability to run and throw.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

All little common sense goes a long way.

Melhaf > Morestead

If a team burns a draft pick, he should be good enough to last years on the team that drafts him, Melhaf lasted like one season now that's a wasted pick
