Hard to criticize this draft so far. Got probably the most NFL ready DE in the draft who excels at gap integrity and rush defense with a smattering of pass rush moves. Followed that up with the #1 RB who helps eliminate our stable of injured ball carrier rotations and gives us a position of leverage with Reggie and PT's contracts. Will get us back to more balanced offensively and become the 2 headed monster we were in the Super Bowl run. A+ so far guys.

A+ is right. I think Ingram is going to prove useful in more ways than one. INT's will go down, Brees' comp% will go up (not far to go), defense more rested. I love it.

Our cornerbacks just got better due to that pick. They'll have an added edge with the addition of another ballistic d-linemen
Holy Chitlins the Saints staff rocks! This season will be The Year of the Interceptions for our defense. You heard it here. Record #'s. |

And we have no idea how well Shaun Rogers will play. He only started one game last season so a starting position isn't guaranteed and expectations should be low.
But maybe a change of scenery and Gregg Williams is what the big guy needs. If so, this d-line would be sick. |

Cam Jordan, as far as a pass rusher is concerned, is basdically more of a second effort, never give up, coverage sack guy. Playing in a 3-4 at Cal, the OLBs would naturally get most of the sacks and pass pressures, but QB pressures are many times just as important as sacks (maybe more so, since pressure many time goads a QB into making bad decisions).
He has a variety of moves (bull rush, swim, spin, slap) which is what I thought separated him from Cameron Heyward (drafted several picks later by the Steelers), who is basically one-dimensional. And Cam Jordan is a beast against the run. He is a complete DE who doesn't sell out against the run to try to get to the QB, and vice versa. |

Cameron Jordan is going to help change the face of the front four. Ellis is going to have a highly motivated DT next to him which will elevate his game. Will Smith will be gone for the first four games and should come back with a fire like he did in '09. Throw the rookie in the mix and our front four could be very very scary which could take some pressure of the LBers. I could easily see a complete turn around in the front four.
