It will be sad to see Reggie go. Was he ever an every down back? No absolutely not. He was a situational player and a fantastic one at that. But he's had his share of injuries and setbacks and he does have a fumbling issue from time to time.
To be honest though, I'm a little perplexed at the decision to trade two draft picks to get a top-flight, every down type running back, when the Saints won the Super Bowl in magnificent fashion using a 2 or 3 running back rotation the entire season. We already signed Pierre to a four year deal. Chris Ivory was a star on the rise (although we don't know as much about his injuries as Mickey Loomis does). There are still other capable running backs like Lynell Hamilton that are available to us. Personally I felt if we were to trade away two draft picks, we should have grabbed another big-time defensive player (M. Wilkerson, A. Ayers, C. Heyward). I just hope this isn't a step back. It's going to take a while for Ingram to get used to the pace of the NFL - to learn all the different screens, and so forth. Thrilled about Cameron Jordan though! I never ever thought he would have been available. |

I agree with Strato on this one. I think the one that should be worried is PT. Ingram and Bush has a good chance to get back to where Bush and McAllister were. Line 'em up in the backfield at the same time and call it the 'Heisman' formation.
