The Draft Value of Jordan and Ingram
I thought this would be interesting to calculate just for fun. I'm surprised at what I found..
Ingram and Jordan were rated 12th and 13th best player overall using CBSSPORTSLINE rankings. Obviously others vary but we'll use them to calculate. Using the draft value chart, if they were picked exactly where they were slated it would equate to 1,200 + 1,150 points = 2,350 points We burned picks 24(740), 28(660) and 56(340) = 1,740 points Getting these two where we did is the equivalent of an extra 610 points, which equates to the 30th pick in the draft. These two players were the equivalent of pick 24, 28, 56 PLUS the 30th pick. We stole 'em boys. |

Yea, we stole 'em alright. At a time when I'm down on the league in general, both players and owners, our draft performance last night really got me back in the game, so to speak. Our coach and GM are extremely good at what they do.

If you considered Cam Jordan the equivalent of the 24th pick in the draft, we also got value just on the trade for Mark Ingram.
