A lot is going to depend on how soon the lockout issue is resolved, if very soon, then I expect Mark Ingram to be the opening day starter. Of course, who starts really doesn't matter as long as everyone is healthy. I do vision Ingram being the main ball carrier, say around 15-20 times per game, with PT and Ivory making major contributions in the rotation.
If the injuries do not pile up at the position, I can see the Saints actually challenging for the top spot in team rushing yards. I know those are big words to say with a Brees lead team, but I do believe the Saints will become more run oriented if they have the guys to do it. Give Brees a top notch running game and he is going to pick defenses apart, and the Saints should be easy favorites to bring home another Super Bowl win. |
