Just ran across this line in pro Football weeklys wispers. Tweeky and BnB were talking him up as well from reports they had heard. I want to see this kid on the field and find out what all the talk is about.

The way we hear it, the Saints may hand the starting MLB job to Cie Grant next season because the coaching staff loves his potential.

I still don\'t understand why there so emphatic on placing this guy in the middle when most scouts had him listed outside.

I have a feeling our starting LB unit in 2004 will be completely new.
OLB-Veteran FA
MLB-Grant
OLB-Rookie (Dansby, Dontarrios Thomas. Boulware or DJ Williams)

Given the play of our LB unit I have no problem with that . I\'m hopeing that is where we make our biggest dollar aquisition in the off season. I think Rodgers has done a good job and wouldn\'t mind the Saints trying to resign him after the season is up. Hodge is a restricted free agent but think we need an upgrade there, keep him as depth only. All the rest will be back unless we cut them. I hope Cie is for real, that would solve a major problem for us. We need to see him in some games before the year is done.to try to determine if we need to address the position or he can be an answer.

I don\'t think Rodgers is going anywhere. He was a good player in Miami and I think he has been solid here as well, especially considering that he gets almost no help from the other LBs. I thought Rodgers was a big move for us this offseason, although it was a quiet one. On the defensive side of the ball, he was the most PROVEN and CONSISTENT player we picked up playing at an above average rate. He\'ll be a starter next year I\'m guessing.

Lets hope not. Because that would mean we brought in or drafted some studs.
But I agree, he\'ll probably be a starter. We could do a lot worse.

This guy hasn\'t done anything all year... Does he have potential?
