The Bucs apparently passed on Cam Jordan

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I agree with their assessment... but up the sack range to 6-8. Jordan is more of a complete DE... not a pure pass rusher. He does not bail out on the run to chase the quarterback kamikaze style all over ...

He does not bail out on the run to chase the quarterback kamikaze style all over the field. With his size, athleticism, and our attack style defense, a ten sack season here or there is more than possible. Think a more athletic Charles Grant... when he was actually good.

I think he's a prototypical LDE that can stuff the run and pressure the QB.

He is exactly what we hoped Charles Grant would be.

Another note, he played DE in a 3-4 at Cal, and 3-4 DE's never get high sack totals. I look for his sacks to increase quite a bit in our 4-3. I can see him as a consistent 8-10 sack guy with Ellis and Rogers in the middle and Smith on the end, as well as a solid DE against the run.

Clayborn may be a better pass rusher, but I think Jordan is the better player.
