NEW ORLEANS -- Reggie Bush is back in the Big Easy, where he's backing away from recent Twitter posts that indicated he may not see the New Orleans Saints in his future.

"I would love to retire here if possible," Bush said Saturday. "I would love to play for the Saints for however long my career, God willing, allows me to play. First and foremost, I want to be a Saint."

Bush spoke during his annual youth football camp at Tulane, on the same fields where he's been absent while teammates have been taking part in workouts organized by Saints quarterback Drew Brees during the NFL lockout.

On a personal level, all the tweet nonsense notwithstanding, its hard not to like this young man.

Four year deal, 1.5 to 2 million per year, plus some fair incentives, and an appropriate signing bonus.

I could live wit dat!

fair enough, danno. 4 years 2 mill a year with 8 up front and that could conclude his career.

I'd be willing to give him more than that. Granted his production doesn't warrant it, but he's worth his weight in marketing and sales. I think if we offered anything less than 3 a year, he'll take his services elsewhere. I do hope we can come into an agreement... I just don't think it's logical for him to stay for a couple of mil a year.

Bush Back?

I'm glad he's retracting from his earlier statements. Anytime a player knows he's going to take a pay cut, but remains loyal to his team, shows that he believes that the organization is ready to win. For our success, let's hope both sides can come together and agree on a deal. I think he will play a pivotal role in the offense and especially within special teams.

If I knew Reggie could back peddle this good I'd want him at corner instead of receiver, let's hope they reach an agreement and he can continue being an expensive decoy on a championship winning team

I still see him leaving. I don't want to see him go. But I bet his ego steps in the way.

Four year deal, 2.5 each, 3mil signer + incentives. Joel Segal's ego might be a bigger problem than Reggie's. He has to get Bush and Ingram done...with a host of other clients. He may be jockeying for the MVA award and positioning his services for future clients.
