NewOrleansSaints.com Q: How do you feel about facing Michael Strahan this week? A: "I am always excited about a good challenge. Just a year or two ago he's the guy who broke the NFL sack record. We already know he is going to bring a lot of pressure and he is going to be pumped up trying to get his guys ready for the game. I think Victor Riley is going to do a wonderful job on him so it is up to us to take care of the ball and play like we should." Q: Are you expecting the Giants to put a lot of pressure on you? A: "They can play it many different ways. They can lie down and give us the game, which I doubt very seriously, or they can play the spoiler. I think any NFL team in that situation is not going to lie down. They are going to come out to play and we are going to be prepared for that situation. The best thing is we will be ready to play." Q: What do you do to prevent losing the ball? A: "We are working on drills right know. Coach Sheppard has some excellent ideas in terms of protecting the football. I need to have a conscious effort in terms of the situation we are in, knowing that it can hurt our football team. I take that as my responsibility to make that happen this week and put forth an extra effort to protect the football." Q: Do you worry about being taken out of the game? A: "No, I trust the judgment of Coach Haslett and Coach McCarthy to do what is best for this football team. If I am not helping the football team, then the situation will play out but I don't see that happening because I am going to go out and play Aaron Brooks football." Q: Did you see what Coach Haslett said during his Monday press conference? A: "No, I don't read those comments. I'm sure there were some positive things that he said but at the same time there were some realistic things that needed to be addressed. I just have to move on from there and put last week behind us and keep pushing." Q: Coach said Monday that you and he spoke about protecting the ball? A: "He doesn't have to say anything, that goes without saying. Coach and I did speak and the main thing that was said was what happened Sunday can't continue to happen." Brooks Wednesday press conference partial transcript
I\'m reading Brooks\' statements and I\'m thinking to myself that Aaorn is doing a great job. He sounds intelligent and confident. He\'s talking about correcting the fumbling problem. I\'m thinking this is one of his best interviews. I\'m thinking the Brooks Bashers will be impressed with this one.
But then this:
