I think Haz should threaten to pull Brooks in the game every week. This was definately the confidence booster that he needed. On the subject of Horn, the cell phone may have been a bit much, but I really don\'t think its as bad as they were making it out to be. He had a great game and proved how vital he is to this team. Great win!

It is a little different to control your own play off destiny or to play and pray like they are currently doing . |

Agreed 08!
Last season\'s meltdown was completely unacceptable. However, the point I was alluding to is this: there are some here who have affirmed that under Haz, there is no way we can win in December. He just doesn\'t have it in him to motivate a team for an entire season; they burn out. Well, it seems to me that this claim has been shown to be false. Granted, when our boys win the next two weeks ( ), this will just be additional nails in the coffin of that ridiculous theory. Furthermore, last year we couldn\'t beat the sucky teams. Today, we did. Again, evidence that claims that there is some sort of trend established about December are not entirely correct. |

12/2/2001 panthers 23 saints 27 12/9/2001 saints 28 falcons 10 The much alluded to December collapse has been about the head coaching ability to keep the team focused in the final December push . It is about keeping the focus too control the play off destiny , rather then play and pray for help like they are currently doing .

Qutie right 08!
Thanks for the reminder, sometimes I get a bit too excited. However, I do think this game makes a point against the December Swoon people, and your evidence is only additional to that point. The December Swoon is not a single event, but it is feature of our collapse. Sadly, I don\'t think the Swoon has been described properly enough for me to believe in it. We do win games in December, and this time we didn\'t just win, we played to expectations (or better). |

I\'m not sold yet. One game doesn\'t break a player and surely one game doesn\'t make a player. Kudos to AB, way to bounce back after last week\'s horrible performance. Still I would like to see consistency from him. If he can pull out positive performance for the span of a couple of week, then i will start to change my stance. Still I can\'t help but feel that AB has a sort of Karma. Seems to me for every good game there is a bad and for every great game, a horrible one. Too me he still has a lot to prove. Great performance. If he produce some positive performances over the last couple of weeks, then we will see.

I finally met that Brooks guy yesterday that BC has been talking seemingly forever. The Brooks yesterday is not the same Brooks from the previous 14 games. Yesterday is what pro bowlers and hall of famers are made of.

Actually, I said that Jim can\'t put it together for a whole season, and even if we win out I\'ll still be right. Wanna know why? B/c we STARTED 1-4!! You don\'t go very far in the NFL when you go 1-3 or 1-4 through any 4 or 5 games. I also said last week that we would win out and win convincingly. Know why? B/c last week\'s loss closed every door to the playoffs except for the \"mathematical\" one. Of course they\'re going to win out and win convincingly. What else do you expect? Jim Haslett and AB have to come back next season right? How else will we be able to go 9-7 and end up one game out of the playoffs?

WhoDat,
My point wasn\'t directed at you, as I do remember you saying exactly that - Haz can\'t keep \'em up for the whole season. It was actually someone else (actually, if you look closely, it was several people) who said that Haz can\'t win in December, no matter what. As for the rest of the post, I\'m not sure what to say about that. Is it your view that the team will win big now that it doesn\'t matter? That seems odd. Why would a team play better (and win bigger) when nothing is on the line? I guess I just don\'t see the causal connection. I would think a demoralized, unmotivated team would lose out, rather than win out. |
