Hockey may be the best example of a sport that doesn't translate to TV very well.

I've never seen an NHL game live, but I saw a local minor league Hockey game live and the action was freaking violently fast and furious. TV can't even come close to the excitement a live hockey game brings.

I'm pretty ignorant of hockey rules too, but most hockey fans put it right up there with football as an awesome sport.
