Backup quarterback Chase Daniel and the team's third signal-caller, Sean Canfield, said they will accompany starter Drew Brees to San Diego soon for five weeks of intense work with trainer Todd Durkin. The quarterbacks will continue their training as the NFL lockout drags on, and it offered perhaps the most notable example of how the Saints will spend their offseason now that team workouts, organized and largely funded by Brees, have ended. I am really starting to like Chase Daniel. Drew is the man, but I think it is good to have him as well. You can never have to much leadership and I think Chase is really coming into his own.

He's in a great situation learning from one of the best in the game. After watching him at Mizzou, I do believe he can become an eventual successor to Drew. Look at guys like Matt Hasselbach and Mark Brunell, I definitely could see Chase taking the same career path.

i believe he can be an above avg. qb in this league but can he make the transition from off the bench and thrown into a playoff game on the line if drew would go down in one. or do we bring in a vet.
