New Orleans
QB Aaron Brooks has been feeling the heat for the team’s inconsistency and fumbling problems, but we’re told he hasn’t lost the support of his teammates. In fact, WR Joe Horn, one of the most vocal players in the locker room, said that he has apologized to Brooks for complaining earlier in the season about not getting the ball enough. Horn believes the entire team should show Brooks their support, but some sources say such coddling of Brooks shows that he isn’t mentally tough enough to become an elite player. We hear head coach Jim Haslett, who is growing increasingly frustrated with Brooks’ inconsistency, might be more patient with Brooks because he realizes the Saints’ receiving corps has been beat up all season. Brooks displayed his immense potential in Week 15, throwing five TD passes in a 45-7 rout of the Giants. |
