New Orleans Saints 2011: A look at the team's question marks
As we wait impatiently for football to kick in for 2011, it is time to take a preliminary look at the New Orleans Saints.
Assuming owners and players will find enough common ground to have a 2011 season, the Saints figure prominently in the discussion to win the NFC and reach the Super Bowl. After winning the Super Bowl to cap the 2009 season, the Saints endured injuries and struggled through a typical post-Super Bowl syndrome as their quest to repeat ended on a cool day in Seattle against a subpar Seahawks team which sported a losing record. i'm really thinking the defense will make huge strides in 2011 getting pressure off bree's shoulders and he having a carreer best season. G.W. will be king i just have a feeling.

I hadn't realized Porter and Greer missed 17 games over the last two seasons.
Thats kinda concerning. |
When healthy, I think they're easily one of the best tandems in the NFL. Luckily for us, our front office does a great job drafting that which net us Jenkins and Robinson in back to back drafts. Though puzzling at the time, they know what they're doing up there. Get a quality backup safety and I feel we have one of the best... and deepest secondaries in the league.

Greer and Porter are ALWAYS hurt. Good article.

Health is going to be a big concern this season. We made it through the end of the '09 season, and playoffs, by getting healthy at just the right time.
Green Bay won Super Bowl XLV with a lot of injuriers, including RB Ryan Grant and TE Jermichael Finley. And don't forget, Aaron Rodgers had at least one concussion last season. It can be done, but I would rather have a healthy roster, especially come playoff time. |
Good read

Questions... Henderson or Arrington?

Nothing wrong with having both. Roby's presence on this team has become less significant and Arrington should have no problem locking up the 5th WR spot on the team.
|
For? Gunning on special teams? He's an average returner, doesn't contribute on offense, and doesn't exactly rack up the tackles on special teams. I'd like to see someone more explosive returning kicks and a guy like Robinson or Patrick could fill the gunning spot on the outside. Roby is useful... but plenty expendable.

Out of all these athletes we don't have anyone else who can return better than Roby?
