The Falcons came in way down the list.
But, I was surprised to see Al Davis' Raiders dead last at number 32. Seems like the Silver & Black ought to be more important than that to Bay Area fans. |

Doesn't matter! It's a percentage. So, for instance, New York City has many more fans watching and listening to the Giants or Jets than New Orleans has watching or listening to the Saints (I negated actually attending the games, as these figures would be about a wash). That's because New York City is MUCH larger than New Orleans. But, percentage-wise, the Saints still come out on top, as a higher percentage of people in New Orleans are "very interested" in the Saints than people in New York City "very interested" in the Giants or Jets.

Okay...the Title on the Article/Page is -
Saints Top All U.S. Sports Teams in Terms of Home Market Fan Penetration That is a major "Fail" using that headline... And this, my friends, is why Economics Professors should consult with English Professors before publishing work... |

ok my real post:
duh! We're the biggest fans in one of the smallest markets. The whole region paints itself black and gold on game day... I knew this already. Also, I think we lead the league in "stuff." How much Saints stuff do you have? I think the Texans have to be dead last. The Texans can be playing in Reliant, and most of the city is completely unaware there is an NFL game happening. Most of them are playing soccer anyway. |
