I like what Freeman has the potential to become. I think we have seen the best Matt has to offer. Matt is a good QB too.

I don't think Newton will be successful, but I could definitely be wrong

I think that you will be right. Newton will either fail or you will be wrong.

I need more solid evidence. What makes you so sure? One of these two things will occur, or they will not. But chances are something will happen. Lets just wait and see.

HAHAHAHA... like that prevented Jeff Garcia from running all over us. Jeff Garcia -- "I'm Not Gay" -- Outsports.com

Ryan scares me the most. His rookie year against us, he did not look like a rookie to me. Hate him as we do-- Ryan is a real NFL QB, and lets hope we can always get to him from the line.

Freeman very well could become a force, if he studies and develops. If he gets the chess match facet of the game down, he could be hell on wheels.

Newton? naa.

The most important part of a QB is his MIND. The best QB in the South Division is also the smallest guy, who has the best MIND.

The thing I like about Matt Ryan (or rather, the positive thing about him I dislike the most as a Saints fan) is that he just don't quit, when he's out there. This is why the Falcons always kinda hang around in those really tough games against the Saints. He throws an INT, next series he's out there chucking it around again, a lot like Drew.

This is also a contributing factor to why delusional Falcons fans walk away from these games saying stuff like "we TOTALLY DOMINATED the Saints ALL DAY" when the scoreboard is showing that the Falcons lost, or that the game was actually very close deep into overtime, or that they trailed most of the day... they end up saying these "we DOMINATED 'em" things and thinking their team or organization were really on the same level with the Saints, mainly because Ryan is not one to fold up. So the games stay kinda close 'til the very end, or look closer than they really are. The Falcs will be down by a touchdown, then tied, then down by a touchdown, then later down by 10, then down by 3 -- that type of thing. But if you watch it objectively, they're getting more or less manhandled by the Saints all day, barely hanging by a thread, until something goes wrong and there's an injury or a Saints miscue. This has been the story for most of the last couple of years' worth of games.

BUT -- is Ryan a big playmaker, is he elite, or a Hall of Fame QB? Nah, no way, he's not really anything exceptional at all. Just solid GOOD with a couple of weapons and a good push-off artist to throw to.

I think Josh Freeman may end up being better than Ryan, eventually. Not quite there yet. I'll say this, he looked a LOT different in that Falcons/Bucs game that was so crazy and down-to-the-wire intense last year, than he ever looks against the Saints. He looked a lot more legit there, against another team, than he does in the games against the Saints.

And I don't know about "scare me," but Cam Newton DOES kinda interest me a little bit... Not having any sleepless nights about it, but I am a teeny tiny bit worried about that last game of the year on New Year's Day, if it somehow came down to being a game that matters...I worry about the Dome crowd being flat and hungover from New Year's the night before, Shockey being pumped up to be back in the Dome, him doing a little Fujita type number on us, as an extra sideline coach for the Panthers... I could see it being a nail-biter.

Hopefully it will just be meaningless by that point... but division-wise I would be much more expecting to see a revamped Cam-led Carolina messing with Atlanta and Tampa's playoff pictures, rather than the Panthers coming from the bottom and throwing wrinkles at a veteran and stable team like the Saints.

I think Freeman ... but Ryan has the better supporting cast, which makes him more difficult for us to defend. Cam just has to prove himself before he can even be considered. I think Tampa is going to be better this year and Atlanta is still going to be our guage. Defense will carry our division. Whoever can get some stops, key stops, will rule the day. Its all about making plays. The Superbowl season and victory was about making plays. Last years loss was due to NOT making plays. We need to get back to making plays.

I hate to say this but Matt Ryan is by far the better player out of the three.

Freeman: games won (Browns (by 3), Panthers (by 3), Bengals (by 3), Rams (by 1), Cardinals (by 3), Panthers (by 15), 49ers (by 21), Redskins (by 1), Seahawks (by 23), Saints (by 10) Combined record 55-105

I think freeman has a way before I say he is even close to Matt Ryan's Level.

You can say that Matt has a better cast....but Blount is a stud, and the buccaneers have some good WR,

skymike 07-14-2011 05:52 PM

Tell yall what, I think we'd better put our jocks on straight before going out against the Bucs this year. That coach knows what he's doing.
