this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I was wondering which quarterback is considered better by everyone here. Do your best to prevent your hate for Atlanta to influence your decision. Does Cam Newton scare anybody?...

Matt Ryan or Josh Freeman? Newton?

Freeman scares me the most. I don't think anyone can question Newton's athleticism, but until we see him in the system it's anyone's guess how he will perform. As far as Matty Ice, I'd put him right behind Freeman, for now.

Ryan right now for me. Freeman had a very good season but I need to see more of him before I call him a franchise quarterback. Newton's not in the discussion for me as he hasn't played a single down yet.

Ryan to me is the better leader.
Freeman is becoming a great QB. He still needs a couple more years to prove he's no fluke. Newton..... Why do I smell the next Jamarcus Russell or is that Vince Young I smell? |

I like Freeman over Ryan. I think that he played very well last year with an average supporting cast. Ryan plays with better specialty players. Right now I'd argue that as a group, Atlanta's WR's, TE's, and RB's are the best in the NFC South. Having said that, Brees will still have a better year than Ryan. Freeman may too.
And Newtons Panthers don't scare me one bit. |

Personally, I think Ryan is the best on the list. He's going to be a tough competitor in the NFC South until his contract runs out then he's out of that trash dump called Atlanta. Freeman was alright but nothing to worry about. Newton is the unknown factor. However, none of them can hold a candle to Brees....not in his leadership skills, reading defenses or throwing the accurate ball. He is the complete package. None of them have the time playing the game that he does and we all know he loves to study film.

I'd say Freeman, I very impressed by his athletic skills and his poise on the field. I think he will help raise the Bucs to be an anual contender. Ryan is a good QB but I don't think he is spectacular. Newton might turn out ok but my money is still on Jimmy Clausen to have the better NFL career and i don't even like Jimmy Clausen.
