Stinchcomb finally gets his chance

By Jeff Duncan Staff writer As far as debuts go, Jon Stinchcomb's initial appearance as an NFL lineman was less than spectacular. The Saints second-round draft choice, who was inactive for the first nine games, saw his first action with the starting offensive line when he substituted for injured starter Spencer Folau at right guard in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the New York Giants. "It felt good to finally get out there," said Stinchcomb, a 6-foot-5, 302-pound lineman. "They needed me to step up and come in the game. That's my job. That's what I'm supposed to be able to do." In the four games before Sunday, Stinchcomb had played solely on special teams. Before that, he was inactive.
