Ingram 1,040 yards 5.0 ypc 208 carries
Thomas 500 yards 5.0 ypc 100 carries (still catching screen passes) Ivory 500 yards 5.0 ypc 100 carries Bush 250 yards 5.0 ypc 50 carries (still playing some receiver/returning kicks) This is my plan. |

Oh yes indeed, believe me, the entire Saints coaching staff and front office is very familiar with this stat. The thing that really makes the Saints offense work is the ability to run the ball. When Brees has the running game going, he can relax and pick defenses apart with ease.

Oh, WHY do you tell me this???
Saints are 23-0 when they rush for a little bitty 125 yds. We have Mark Ingram and a healthy PT, and maybe even Reggie back. And they say theyre close to getting the CBA. ...but officially, for now, there's no football. Why dont you just tell me there's bacon on the stove, back at the house? (I dont go home for 3 hours) I feel like this guy: |

I've tried to tell him. Payton won't take my calls...or respond to my emails... But I thnk he got the message though because I keep hearing him TALK about balance even when Brees is chunking 40+.

With that stat, it was certainly a good thing that Loomis did in giving up next year's number 1 pick for Mark Ingram (assuming Ingram turns out to be what we think he is).
That 23-0 record when the Saints rush for 125 yards or more is very telling, but on average how many of those yards were accumulated when the game was still in doubt, and how many were accumulated when we were running out the clock? I would like to see that breakdown. |

Does it really matter how much of the 125 yd figure is by running out the clock?

Ingram / Ivory
Oh my GOD, the fear that is going to strike into the minds of opposing defensive coordinators... NOT even counting the 'givens'. (QB, passing threat, screens, young tight end corps) Okay, I'm ****cited, back after 'while! ;-] Alaska |
