Bush open to restructuring Saints contract after lockout lifted
Reggie Bush remains on point: His preference is not to find a new NFL home in 2011.
"I want to be back with the Saints. I think our No. 1 priority is to stay with the Saints, restructure a deal where both sides are happy," Bush told The Times-Picayune on Friday. "It's just about getting this lockout out of the way so we can do that. NFL.com news: Bush open to restructuring Saints contract after lockout lifted |

Interesting. If he means this and he wants to stay a Saint (no reason to doubt him I guess), then it slightly refutes the point about him wanting grass vs turf article ESPN ran. I also wonder why he wants to stay in NO. He probably will find a team that will pay him more than the Saints. With the money going into Thomas and the upcoming Ingram contract, I think some team will outbid them so to speak. Maybe he thinks the org. has established itself as one of the league's best and he wants to continue being a part of that. Maybe he likes the area. I'm just wondering really. Does anyone know if he spends time in the area? Does he have a NO residence ?

I think if San Diego came calling, he'd go back home. Thats about the only team I'd think he'd leave us for, unless we low-ball him.
You can't help but get a little excited about what "could" be IF (big IF) the 2006 version of Reggie surfaces with Ingram, PT and Ivory in the backfield. WOW!!! |

We'll bich-slap the "greatest show on turf" offenses of the late 90's. Ingram will be our Marshall Faulk.

While he does look like an Emmit Smith COLLEGE clone, the NFL is a different story. Also, if Emmit didn't run behind one of the best offensive line to ever step foot on a field, he'd just be another very good RB. Emmit also benefitted greatly from staying injury free for so long. That is impossible to project at the NFL level. Personally I think Ingram will be more of a Marshall Faulk type RB in this offense. Thats good enough for me. |

Anyhow, back to the main point, of course he's willing to restructure. No one in their right mind would be willing to pay Reggie what he's due this year. Someone will overpay and I do not believe he'll be back. Now back to Ingram... if he can be 3/4 of the player... hell even a little less, he'll help in a big way of us securing another ring.
