Bush open to restructuring Saints contract after lockout lifted

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I think if San Diego came calling, he'd go back home. Thats about the only team I'd think he'd leave us for, unless we low-ball him. You can't help but get a little excited about what "could" be IF (big ...

You can't help but get a little excited about what "could" be IF (big IF) the 2006 version of Reggie surfaces with Ingram, PT and Ivory in the backfield. WOW!!!

Consider Graham and the WRs into this scenario and even Payton might have trouble working all the pieces in.

No worries, Drew will find the open guy and keep everyone involved.

He's the guy to do it. It is fun to ponder how good they can be if all the pieces do fit. Great talent at WR, TE, QB, and RB. If the line holds up, it could be one of the best ever.

We'll bich-slap the "greatest show on turf" offenses of the late 90's. Ingram will be our Marshall Faulk.

I'm telling you, it's kinda scary to consider just how freaking good we could be with our backs healthy, our QBs knee something less than questionable, and Reggie playing with a chip on his shoulder...if Ingram compares...even compares...to Emmit Smith as some have suggested...holy smoke on the water Danno...

I'm wary of the Emmit Smith comparisons. Yeah, he's built identical and runs much like Emmit did, but if everyone is already expecting this kid to be Emmit Smith, we're setting ourselves up for disappointment.

While he does look like an Emmit Smith COLLEGE clone, the NFL is a different story. Also, if Emmit didn't run behind one of the best offensive line to ever step foot on a field, he'd just be another very good RB. Emmit also benefitted greatly from staying injury free for so long. That is impossible to project at the NFL level.

Personally I think Ingram will be more of a Marshall Faulk type RB in this offense. Thats good enough for me.

You're showing a lot of respect towards Emmitt which is a given... one of the best of all time. At the same time, in my opinion, Marshall is one of the top RB's of all time.

Anyhow, back to the main point, of course he's willing to restructure. No one in their right mind would be willing to pay Reggie what he's due this year. Someone will overpay and I do not believe he'll be back.

Now back to Ingram... if he can be 3/4 of the player... hell even a little less, he'll help in a big way of us securing another ring. It's a good time to be a New Orleanian Saint.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

All little common sense goes a long way.

I'd say more so just 21st century football. I'm not sure Faulk would have had near the success he had if he'd played in the 60's and 70's.

He is certainly one of the top RB's in the modern era, without question.
