I'm on the opposite side on this one. You want big money? Prove it on the field. We'll pay you fairly considering you haven't done enough to even get drafted, so here's a roster spot, now go earn that big payday if'n you want it.

Being able to give them a little more incentive than the next team... gives you the pick of the litter. There are plenty of diamond in the rough guys every year that scouts completely drop the ball on. 75k split among a bunch of guys that you're going to sign isn't exactly a lot of money. We've been one of the top spending teams the past 3 years... I think it takes away(though miniscule) a small advantage for us because we aren't cheap skates. This is just bonus money to get them in here... they'd still have to earn a roster spot and a contract. Just my take.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

All little common sense goes a long way.

Isn't there a lump sum of money divided every year to the players that outplay their contracts? That would come into play here i would expect?
