SP is reporting at his press conference that they have re-signed safety chris reis and OLB scott shanle

I'm with you too. Shanle is not a great player but he's a pretty good one and you can rely on him. Worst case scenario, with no injuries we're looking at a Shanle-Vilma-Casilla LB group and that's not bad at all.

the only thing i can rely on him to do is miss tackles and stale our LB corp up

If he was bad as you say he would've been beaten out for his job by one of the parade of young linebackers by now.
